How many contracts for fire and security systems
********************
Ken
We have a customer that is an Intrusion Customer and Fire Customer.  Should we have 1 contract or 2 contracts?  Is there a combo contract or am I missing something?
Thank you
Paul

If residential then the Residential All in One covers both security and fire.
For commercial customers I prefer separate contracts for security and fire.  As you know these are two very different systems, and in fact the security contract covers all forms of security, including intrusion, access control, cameras as well as any other non-fire system, such as environmental.  The fire covers a fire alarm, whether installed pursuant to code and AHJ approval or not, and can be used for installation as well as the RMR services, repair service, inspection and monitoring.
There is a single contract, the Fire All in One with Security Rider.  This form combines commercial fire and commercial security.  It’s useful is you always install fire and only sometimes security; it can be used for fire only; it cannot be used for security only.  Therefore, if you are doing security and no fire alarm then you will need the Commercial All in One; may as well get the Commercial Fire All in One and the Commercial All in One and use them separately.
When you install fire and security and want to use the same panel, so that there is only one panel for both systems, be sure to use a fire rated panel.  In the Commercial All in One [which is for the security system] you will indicate that the system uses the fire alarm panel.
