Do you think camera market will be disrupted?
***********************
SDM published an article on “Research Shows Coronavirus Could Disrupt the Video Surveillance Market”.  You think?  Did anyone notice that ISC canceled the “Chinese pavilion” which are all camera companies?  I confess that when I first glanced at the title of the article I though it read “could the Coronavirus disrupt the video surveillance market?’ and I then immediately thought to answer the question with my own question:  "Does a bear shit in the woods?"
The disruption of product from China is going to affect the camera market, but of course the alarm industry will survive.  The article did cite some interesting data:  China produces 90% of video surveillance cameras, yet takes in only 45 % of the global market revenue.  I guess we know where to get cheap surveillance cameras.  According to the article the worldwide global video surveillance market was $19 billion in 2019.
It can’t all be attributable to Sandy Springs or even Lee Jones.
I’m [still] a fan of the Walking Dead and hopefully this Coronavirus isn’t that.  It’s causing lots of concern and being used by plenty of people for their own agenda and advantage, the politicians and the stock market manipulators notably included.
For those brave souls attending ISC we will miss the camera pavilion and we’ll all be looking suspect at each other.  I can’t believe I missed a marketing opportunity to sell a full face mask, with guess who’s face.
Hope to see you at the show.  Please don’t offer to shake hands.
