Comment on ADT -  Google deal from article on August 8,  2020

Ken,
I have been on the record for 20 years or more that the efforts of ADT, mass marketers, door knockers, simply safe, comcast, etc etc etc.
****
Pro’s - Anything that raises the awareness of alarm systems is good for everyone
Pro’s - Anyone that develops new technology and deploys it is good for everyone, because technology is not a secret and the method to the end is multifaceted especially in software so it one company develops a service that goes from A to B around a circle to the left, someone else will find the way to the right
*****
Con’s – The marketplace for alarms, no matter who is in the space, is not 100% of everyone or every property. So when you see statistics that 25% of America is alarmed, the full marketplace maybe 50% of the total properties.
****
Opinion – Bundled services does not outweigh personal service and customer follow-up
Opinion – After 30 years of zero down the experiment has failed and the fears that so many had should not be holding anyone back today.
Opinion – Your calculation on the multiple for the ADT investment is not a message to sell your alarm company because values are falling. The 19.5X is a reflection of the attrition, operational overhead and other business issues surrounding the behemoth of the industry ADT.
In short, keep your head down, focus on what makes you money, secure your RMR with standardized industry contracts (such as those at www.alarmcontracts.com), and maintain your relationships with your customers. The cheapest account creation cost is referral from a happy customer.
Finally, don’t take the bait when Ken Kirschenbaum comments about central stations on The Alarm Exchange that choose not to do a presentation. I want your business, IF you find value in my company, USA for your company. Is USA the biggest or cheapest? NO. If you want to talk about our services and cutting edge technology, call me or Sharon Elder at USA.

Thanks for your comment on the ADT - Google deal; I agree with your analysis.  We would all like to hear from others with their insight and perspective.
The Central Station 2020 Webinars have been very informative and well attended.  We have two more scheduled - see below.  And, Bart, you're still welcome to present.  The webinars are available to all central stations listed on The Alarm Exchange.
As far as my recommendations, all of the central stations on The Alarm Exchange should be considered.
All of the central station 2020 webinars were recorded and can be viewed on K&K's website at https://www.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/alarm-webinars

Central station webinars

Not all central stations on The Alarm Exchange have opted to participate as of yet.  You still have time.  Contact our Concierge Coordinator Stacy Spector, Esq at SSpector@Kirschenbaumesq.com or 516 747 6700 x 304.  You just might pick up one or more dealers.
And, speaking of dealers, selecting the right central station is important; there’s lots to consider.  K&K is saving you the trip to Vegas and bouncing from one booth to another, stuffing your pockets with candy and pens [not that there is anything wrong with that].  You have and you will be hearing from the best of the best in this webinar series.
Keep in mind that any legitimate central station is going to require you to sign a Dealer Agreement.  This isn’t a car rental contract at the airport.  It can be modified and you need to ask for those modifications.  I’ve designed a Rider that applies to every central station Dealer Agreement because it includes all the provisions a dealer should be asking for and is entitled to.  If you are negotiating with a new central station or re-negotiating with your current central station, be sure to get the Rider.  It’s $500 and well worth it.  Order it at www.alarmcontracts.com in the Monitoring Centers Contracts category.

Central Station* 2020 webinar series K&K is hosting webinars by central stations, one at a time, who will address "why you should be using our central station".  Each webinar will be approximately 20 minutes and then Q&A opportunity.  See what your central station has to offer or what others offer, enabling you to choose the right central station for you.  You should be using a central station listed on The Alarm Exchange to be assured of quality and more importantly, accountability.
  *  only central stations on The Alarm Exchange will be invited to participate
