Say we have an all in one residential contract signed by a client that we install a monitored alarm system for, and 18 months in they want to add cameras to their system - is a new contract needed? What if they just want to add a few alarm devices? Christopher P ********************* Response ********************* You enter into an All in One agreement to install a system and provide RMR [after-install] services. The subscriber [or in some cases AHJ requires changes] requests a change in the system or services. Whether you need a new contract or what document you do need depends on when and what is asked. Change during installation: You would use a Supplemental Rider / Extra or Change Order, using the change order provision. Change in system or services after installation: If the change request is made within a reasonable amount of time from execution of the All in One you would use a Supplemental Rider / Extra or Change Order. using the supplement provisions. For the Fire All in One the form is called Extra Work Order. If the change request is made several years after the installation then I would suggest a new updated All in One in which you would indicate that you are adding to an existing system. This will permit you to use an updated All in One form and get a new start date for the term of the agreement. Do not do any change in installation or service without a new contract form. You want to be sure that any additional work you do is covered by your existing contract or new contract. Here's the good news. The Supplemental Rider / Extra or Change Order [and Extra Work Order for the Fire All in One] is one agreement and it is not sold separately, it's given to you when you order the All in One. [if you have the All in One and can't find your Supplemental Rider / Extra or Change Order then it's time to order an updated All in One.] ******************** STANDARD FORMS Alarm / Security / Fire and related Agreements. click here: www.alarmcontracts.com *************************** CONCIERGE LAWYER SERVICE PROGRAM FOR THE ALARM INDUSTRY - You can check out the program and sign up here: https://www.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/concierge or contact our Program Coordinator Stacy Spector, Esq at 516 747 6700 x 304. *********************** ALARM ARTICLES: You can always read our Articles on our website at ww.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/alarm-articles updated daily ******************** THE ALARM EXCHANGE - the alarm industries leading classified and business exchange - updated daily ************************* Wondering how much your alarm company is worth?
