We use Adobe PDF for many things and have recently started using it for the alarm contracts. Important to note that we do have a paid subscription to Adobe. You can easily edit the contracts as needed, then send for e-signature. When I purchased the contracts from you they were already in PDF format so there really wasn't too much setup and its been easy to use. Hope that helps. David Febbraio Structured Home Solutions, LLC ************************ Ken We use Adobe Sign and it does allow you to make edits to the PDF text, although Ken prefers the changes to be made on Word then converted to ODF as necessary. Alan Rudnick ADR Security ************************** Ken, Our company recently moved from Docusign to a service from a company called SignNow. Docusign is a stable and effective document signature product but required a significant price increase for the annual volume of document processing we needed. Some recent acquisition activity and drive to replace or update agreements for customers would have required purchasing a large block of electronic agreements from Docusign. There have been a few very minor glitches with the new company, but they work with us to make sure any issues are rectified promptly. Vince Raia, President EMC Security ************************** Ken, It’s beneficial to integrate electronic forms creation into a businesses’ CRM, including electronic contracts. The technical term in the IT word used to describe using multiple software requiring re-keying data is “swivel chair.” Rekeying is not just a waste of time, it’s an invitation for keypunch errors. In my consulting practice, I’ve worked with hundreds of security businesses, small, regional and large assisting with best practices. In addition to selecting software, we help pick features, implement, train and periodically review utilization to make sure software is being used properly and to its fullest potential. Fieldhub is one solution that’s quickly been adopted as the replacement of choice for Sedona. It has a great electronic forms solution and syncs data with a growing number of third-party monitoring providers. We use Fieldhub in our installing business and have optimized K&K agreements to work seamlessly. K&K Concierge Clients receive a half hour of complimentary consultation monthly and in view of the intricacies of the agreements and the vital importance of using the K&K Contracts the Concierge Program is invaluable to your business and saves lots of money on legal services you might otherwise seek to unwisely avoid.. We’ll share our white paper on CRM/ERP/CAD integration and discuss our proven roadmap. Best, Peter Goldring Peter@pmgoldring.com Peter M. Goldring Consulting 516-640-1410 ********************* Ken, As you mentioned www.loyva.io is the only e-sign and evaulting platform built for the security and alarm industry. Kirchchenbaum clients get a special discount and free onboarding when they subscribe. We are listed on The Alarm Exchange. Happy to help customers go digital with their contracts. Nicholas Tyson ntyson@loyva.io ****************************** Response *************************** Feedback on DocuSign, a popular electronic contract option, is that it's hard if not impossible to alter and expensive. I don't use it so I don't know if that's true and I have never tried to alter a DocuSign doc that I've had to sign. I have heard good things about Fieldhub, so thanks Peter for recommending Fieldhub, who by the way, is listed on The Alarm Exchange in the catagory Technology and Services that increase or preserve your RMR Your contracts are going to need modification; while not challenged by every subscriber the contracts will be challenged by enough of them to warrant an easy way for you, not the subscriber necessarily, to make changes. K&K uses WORD to create a document and then convert it to PDF which is then sent out through our paid Adobe subscription. Apparently Alan has figured out how to edit an Adobe document, something I can't figure out and most of my staff can't either; but at least one of my staff can edit an Adobe document. You do need to be careful that your subscriber doesn't edit your Adobe document, or any electronic form agreement you send them, before signing the document. As I write this article it has just occurred to me that I need to add a provision in the Kirschenbaum Contracts TM a provision that any edit made by subscriber not specifically approved and initialed by you are null and void. Loyva is a company that specializes in electronic contracts for the alarm industries and it gives a discount for K&K Form Agreements; it is listed on The Alarm Exchange in the catgegory Technology and Services that increase or preserve your RMR Sending your contract in WORD [and K&K does provide you with a Standard Form Agreement WORD format] and requiring changes to be in "redline" would make it easier to see the changes, and if you suspect changes were made you can also do a comparison between what you sent and what got signed which I am told is relatively easy to do. When I edit a PDF, even though K&K can edit the PDF in Adobe, I will use a Rider that makes the changes. I am not sure which stands out more, a Rider or making the change in the document. Just about every Vendor or Customer agreement or anything you get from the subscriber, a vendor [such as central station, distributor, manufacturer, hiring contractor, etc.] needs to be reviewed and edited by you. Many of your contracts will be challenged by your subscribers. This is the single most important benefit of the Concierge Program because the Program provides a free half hour each month for contract review and negotiations. Most reviews and negotiations are successfully handled within the free half hour time if K&K can deal directly with the other party's attorney. If you want to help it could take longer, but you also get a 10% discount on the K&K legal fees, and that is unlimited. In short, join the Concierge Program today if you're not already a member. If a member, use the Program. ********************** STANDARD FORMS Alarm / Security / Fire and related Agreements. click here: www.alarmcontracts.com *************************** CONCIERGE LAWYER SERVICE PROGRAM FOR THE ALARM INDUSTRY - You can check out the program and sign up here: https://www.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/concierge or contact our Program Coordinator Stacy Spector, Esq at 516 747 6700 x 304. *********************** ALARM ARTICLES: You can always read our Articles on our website at ww.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/alarm-articles updated daily ******************** THE ALARM EXCHANGE - the alarm industries leading classified and business exchange - updated daily ************************* Wondering how much your alarm company is worth?
