ADT latest attack on integrity of real security
Have you seen ADT latest attack on integrity of real security as reported in CEPro on March 9, 2023?  ADT selling Nest products at COSTCO and installing the equipment.
It wasn’t too long ago that the alarm industry was up in arms over DIY products and particularly the “red coat” alarm companies who promoted, installed or monitored the DIY equipment.  As a matter of fact [or my imagination] before that the alarm industry was on defcon alert because wireless equipment, cameras, remote switches, etc] was being promoted, sold and monitored.  The demise of the alarm industry and the RMR model was prematurely announced; we’re all still here, and I might add, for the most part, thriving.
I don’t think ADT is attacking “real security” and I don’t think that hard wired systems are necessarily better or worse than wireless systems.  All systems have limitations and flaws and that’s why the use of proper contracts is so important.  Keep eye open for the ISC special contract sale that will be available March 27 to March 31.
Hope to see you in Vegas.
