Only the sprinkler contractor should do that. If there is a leak somewhere, the fire alarm company could be on the hook for damages. We always manually pull down the trigger plunger on the flow valve to test it on the fire alarm trip. Anonymous ********************** another comment ********************** Ken What if the valve, that only moves once or twice a year for testing, leaks? Maybe when you turn the valve back on a "water hammer" from a poorly secured pipe on the other side of the building will cause a leak in the ceiling. If sprinkler is not on your card then don't touch it or you'll get one of those "ever since you were here" phone calls.
