What is the push back? The Kirschenbaum Contract Fire All in One states that only the alarm firm can do any work on the fire alarm, including additions or renovations, and anyone else doing so would put the agreement in default and therefore damages can be pursued. Most low-end fire alarm controls can be accessed with the pass code and also be ascertained from the manufacturer. In the case of higher end fire alarm controls there is a key, cables of registered and licensed software are required in order to make any program changes. This fixation with locking the customer in for life is not real and those complaining need to realize and accept the fact that they do not own that customer. Finally, the list of questions posed about the termination of central station monitoring services on an account in NYC and how to leave things, there are a lot of questions that need responses; in order to determine the best path more details are required. Questions such as: What is the occupancy classification, what is being monitored such as just a fire sprinkler system or fire alarm system, is the transmitter completely separately standing, can be removed, is it part of the control or is it just software, is there a Letter of Approval or not? Based upon the response to these questions, then the best path can be taken as to what can and cannot be done and how the system can or could not be left. Without some of these questions answered there cannot be a good response.
