Appreciate those who help you

Most of you are home today with family and friends. There are those in the alarm industry who are not at home; they are working. They are performing emergency service on fire alarms or access control or other security, fire or environmental systems; maybe a pull-cord system. Others are manning the central stations who, unlike our broken postal service, actually do work through "snow, rain, heat or gloom of night".        They are truly the backbone of the industry and this is the time of year to acknowledge their contribution to your success. Trust me, they will appreciate your acknowledgment of their hard work and loyalty.
And for those that don't work so hard and have questionable loyalty, I hope you've had them sign an Employment Agreement.

Early termination request
**************************
Ken,
In the last week I have had 2 monitoring customers request early cancellation of monitoring.  Both customers signed the All-in-One residential contract with a 3 year term.  Both customers have been with my company for less than a year.  I am fortunate that this is the first time in my 20 year business life that this has been requested, but that means I'm not sure what the proper response is and how it should be handled.  Your guidance is requested.  As a side note, one of the subscribers finally admitted to me that they want to switch to SimpliSafe.
Thank you.
Greg

Except in our California contracts there is no mention of Early Termination; it’s call breach of contract.  Of course it’s up to you if you want to let the subscriber off the hook for the rest of the contract term, or pursue your rights under the contract.  20 years in business and this is first time a customer breached?  That’s one heck of a track record.

You should be more understanding of those that cannot understand.  After all, the legal profession has spent centuries and a lot of effort to develop their own language called ‘legalese’.  It cannot be the fault of everyone else when the party of the first part can’t understand how the party of the second part is trying to describe a contract written with modified language.

Honestly I really think the Standard Form Agreements are written as clearly as they can be.  Minimal legalese.  One thing is for sure, you need to start with a proper contract.  This year is almost up and if you’ve been waiting to order updated contracts then get ready.  Want to beat the crowd, order today.
