Regards, Alan ************************* Response ************************* In response to the article on July 8, 2022 regarding inflation affecting the alarm industry, Joe Pfefer [Jade Alarm, Kansas City, MO] sent the following comment. I don’t know Marlin Bank and don’t know of lenders you can recommend to customers to finance large installations. One alternative to selling the system is leasing. I suppose that puts you in the lender position in a way. Here’s Joe comment: ****** Dear Ken & Mitch [Reitman]: You forgot to mention the entities such as Marlin Bank who will help to finance the installation of those ‘mongo jobs’ when the customer does not have the $60K for the installation and then of course the Fire Marshal who looks over the plans and wants to ensure the monitoring is done properly or he/she will not approve the installation….that Central Station charges xx.xx per month to RENT their employee’s time to that account to ensure the proper First Responders get notified….I’m wondering where those funds come from to upgrade the computer hardware/software let alone the batteries for the UPS units or new generators when the old ones break? In that person’s mind, I guess that is part of the ‘extortion’! Just my 2-cents …..
