Contract for Area of Refuse and BDA
*************************
Ken,
I was looking on your site but couldn't find an agreement for Enhanced Radio Communications Enhancement Systems (ERCES).  Louisville/Jefferson Co. in Ky is requiring all new buildings 50,000 sq ft or greater or 3 stories plus a basement to be tested to see if an ERCES system is required.  They are enforcing it through the Fire Detection Contractors so when we pull a permit and the building fits the criteria, we are told that we must test for it and the building must either pass or have an ERCES system installed before CO can be issued.  So there are testing services, installation, retesting and service on an annual basis.  I'm surprised somebody hasn't already asked you for this contract....maybe you have it and it's not on your website yet?  Let me know.

As you note, these systems are usually required to be included in the fire alarm design and enforcement is through the Fire Marshal or Fire Department.
Two provisions in Fire All in One include the following, which are described in the Fire All In One

  *  Check if system includes Area of Refuge two-way communication system

  *  Check if system includes In-Building Wireless Communications Systems for Emergency Responders, Signal Boosters and Bi-Directional Amplifiers (BDA).
The installation of these systems will be included in your
Schedule of Equipment and Services and in your installation price.  The Service and Inspection will be included with the service and inspection of the fire alarm system, and priced accordingly.  The full contractual protection offered by the Kirschenbaum Contracts™ will cover these systems, and of course the fire alarm.
