The exposure is not worth it. My overriding concern are all the parties who are not a party to the contract [could be minor children who are not the home owners, babysitters, housekeepers]. I advise subscribers making this kind of request to run it by their attorney to explain their liability exposure. I also suggest they can buy their own cameras on-line. Bruce ********************** Response ********************** It's a fair policy and position. Even though the Kirschenbaum Contracts TM have a specific provision warning subscribers that it is their responsibility to use the devices lawfully and to find out what that entails, Bruce is certainly correct that third parties who are not parties to the contract are not bound by the contract. They can always sue the installer, and even if they don't win, the publicity may have adverse consequences for the alarm company, not to mention the cost to defend and extricate itself from the lawsuit. There are plenty of inherent risks engaging in most businesses, and the alarm industry is particularly vulnerable to lawsuits when it shouldn't be.
