In my personal opinion, and with some level of “social science certainty” it was the expert Jeff Zwirn himself. He makes a living from throwing alarm companies under the bus. Name not for publication please, I do not need more litigation! Anon *************************** Response **************************** I agree, no alarm sound or notification would have made a difference and as other alarm experts have expressed, the appropriate alarm system would have been a stress alarm. [of course that would have been in addition to the fire alarm]. The Surfside building collapse was just terrible. You should all be grateful that you're around for Christmas Eve tonight and you should remember that your customers depend on you so that they can also be around tonight. In all fairness to Jeff I think it was the newspaper who initiated the inquiry. Jeff makes himself available as an expert in the fire alarm industry, available to both alarm companies and those looking to sue alarm companies. In that sense he's on both sides of the fence. But Jeff is in the alarm business; he owns and operates his own alarm company, and he does spend considerable time, effort and resources trying to share his expertise and educate the alarm industry. On a side note, I came across a lawsuit against an alarm company and the law firm representing the Plaintiff was a law firm that holds itself out as a firm specializing in representing alarm companies. I thought of doing an article about it but didn't get around to it. I don't take cases against alarm companies, even the ones I think the alarm company should lose. Maybe I didn't bother with an article because I don't consider any other lawyers in the US as alarm industry lawyers other than Les Gold in California. With me in New York and Les in California I guess there's a big gap. Good thing for telephones and the Internet. ************************ To order up to date Standard Form Alarm / Security / Fire and related Agreements click here: www.alarmcontracts.com *************************** CONCIERGE LAWYER SERVICE PROGRAM FOR THE ALARM INDUSTRY - You can check out the program and sign up here: https://www.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/concierge or contact our Program Coordinator Stacy Spector, Esq at 516 747 6700 x 304. *********************** ALARM ARTICLES: You can always read our Articles on our website at ww.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/alarm-articles updated daily ******************** THE ALARM EXCHANGE - the alarm industries leading classified and business exchange - updated daily ************************* Wondering how much your alarm company is worth?
