AI wont be replacing KK any time soon - burglar alarm contract
**************************
I've recently been introduced to AI and I admit I'm impressed.  But the fear among many that AI will be replacing all kinds of professionals is, as Mark Twain remarked regarding rumors of his death, the announcement was premature.
While AI have its usefulness, it won't be competing with Kirschenbaum Contracts™ any time soon.  For those of you who already had the bright idea, and those of you who may still, I asked AI to prepare a burglar alarm contract.  Here is what I got:

            Burglar Alarm Contract

This Burglar Alarm Contract ("Contract") is entered into between [Client Name], with a mailing address of [Client Address] ("Client"), and [Alarm Company Name], with a mailing address of [Alarm Company Address] ("Alarm Company"), on the effective date of [Effective Date].

1.   Alarm System Description: Alarm Company shall provide and install a burglar alarm system ("Alarm System") at Client's premises located at [Client Address]. The Alarm System shall consist of the following components:

a) [List of Alarm System Components]

2.   Installation: Alarm Company shall install the Alarm System at the Client's premises by [Installation Date].

3.   Payment: Client shall pay Alarm Company the total amount of [Contract Amount] for the installation and the first year of service of the Alarm System. The payment shall be made on or before the installation date.

4.   Service: After the first year, the Alarm System shall continue to be serviced by Alarm Company on a yearly basis at a rate of [Annual Service Fee]. The Alarm Company shall perform annual maintenance and testing on the Alarm System.

5.   Warranty: The Alarm Company shall provide a [Warranty Period]-year warranty for the Alarm System, beginning from the date of installation. During the warranty period, Alarm Company shall repair or replace any defective Alarm System components free of charge.

6.   False Alarms: Client shall be responsible for any false alarms generated by the Alarm System. If Alarm Company is called to Client's premises due to a false alarm, Alarm Company shall charge Client a fee of [False Alarm Fee].

7.   Limitation of Liability: Alarm Company shall not be liable for any loss or damage resulting from the failure of the Alarm System to operate or any delay in the transmission of signals. Alarm Company's liability shall be limited to the repair or replacement of any defective Alarm System components.

8.   Termination: Either party may terminate this Contract at any time upon [Notice Period] days written notice to the other party.

9.   Governing Law: This Contract shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of [Governing Law].

10.                Entire Agreement: This Contract constitutes the entire agreement between the parties and supersedes all prior negotiations, understandings, and agreements between the parties.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have executed this Contract as of the date first above written.

The funny [or sad] thing is that some of you don't use something even as worthless as this.  Those of you who don't think there's anything wrong with this contract .....  you're welcome to use it; no charge.  But I suggest you upgrade to the Standard Form Agreements to protect your company and build equity in your alarm business.
