I get these questions pretty frequently, and I don't know if the person submitting actually expects a quick answer.  If you do, the answer is, probably No to the first part, and $80 for the second - which is the cost of me downloading, printing your contract and throwing it out.  Now, you want a real answer?  Which the questions deserve -

For a valuation, you can always use www.WhatsMyAlarmCompanyWorth.com to get a value for your company.  Valuing your company depends on a lot of factors, for example, whether you use our contracts www.alarmcontracts.com, whether you carry errors and omission insurance, the type of equipment used, whether your accounts are properly diversified between residential and commercial accounts, to name a few; much more goes into it.  So, you want a valuation, visit www.WhatsMyAlarmCompanyWorth.com, provide me with the info and let me know how detailed of a response you want by selecting your review level.  Want the valuation included in your deal analysis?  No problem.  The cost will likely come out the same and I’ll be happy to ask you all the questions on the www.WhatsMyAlarmCompanyWorth.com  over the phone.

For your sale, who do you want to look over your contract?  Me?  I charge $500 per hour for my time.  How long you want me to look at it for?  If you want me to look at it for 20 minutes, then that’s what you will be charged.  If you want me to read the whole thing and complete the deal for you properly, then you’ll be charged for the amount of time it takes for me to complete the deal.  If you are comfortable with one of my attorneys looking at it (most likely Dennis, Jennifer or Jesse of our Alarm Acquisitions / Sale Department) you’ll be charged their applicable rate, which may be lower.  Bottom line - if you want proper representation for the sale of your life’s work (in some instances), I’ll charge a reasonable amount to protect you from ongoing liability.  As you can see the answer depends on your actual request.  So, we need to talk offline and if you have a contract that was already prepared which you need me to look at, you either thought this was a DIY project or you don’t trust your current counsel because you hired your real estate attorney to review the contract to sell your alarm company.  Regardless, you know the answer if you are asking - you need to retain our firm.  For those of you thinking the sale of your livelihood is a “do it yourself” process, I recommend you reconsider and contact me before you waste the brain power, paper, and ink playing lawyer, and I promise I’ll stop trying to wire my own alarm panel.
