You can stay open and operate during the pandemic crisis. Be sure to properly document your employees who are moving about. In states where id cards are issued and required, be sure your employees have them and display them. Needless to say you must try as best you can to ensure the health and safety of your employees. Whenever possible use telecommuting, skype or facetime. I’ve found that face to face through skype and facetime to be as close as it gets to direct personal contact; try it. Same for staying in touch with family and friends. Electronic face to face is a lot more personal than an email or phone call. Those of you who are sending techs to the job site must be as careful as you can. You can and should ask if anyone at the premises is sick or has been exposed. Obviously you need to avoid those premises where you get a positive response. If you decline to send a tech for service be sure to document the reason why. Email is fine. If you can’t get an affirmative response indicating a virus free environment then don’t send your tech there. You must also be prepared to let your subscribers know that your techs are symptom free and haven’t been exposed. Your subscribers deserve the same level of assurance you will be asking for, for their and your safety. While your business is essential, it could be that some of your staff is not; they can be “laid off” temporarily so they can collect whatever benefits through the government is available. You may also have private insurance that offers some benefits. If you’re not sure ask your broker. If your broker isn’t sure, then ask your lawyer. If K&K is your lawyer then don’t hesitate to contact us. Though as I write this we can’t go to the office, we are working remotely. Best contact for these issues is Jennifer Kirschenbaum,Esq. at 516 747 6700 x 302 or Jennifer@Kirschenbaumesq.com With all this time on our hands we’re available for webinars. If anyone has topic and is ready to present, let me know. Stay healthy ****************** Webinars Series 2020 - Register now ********************** We are pleased to offer the below FREE Webinars.
