MOBILE SURVEILLANCE UNITS - WHAT WHERE HOW - SHOULD YOU BE LEASING THEM?
**********************
Mobile surveillance units - MSU - are becoming a popular service, though I am guessing a lot of you don't know what they are.  A MSU is a stand alone "box" that contains surveillance equipment that communicates a video or other signals.  The box could have motion detectors, sirens, cellular communication, cameras.  I've had clients tell me that they build their own box, though I believe they are commercially available - just not sure where.  The box is delivered by trailer and sometimes stays on the trailer so it can be easily moved.
MSUs are typically utilized for short duration.  A construction site is perfect for the MSU.  Often open and hard to fence off, abandoned at night, weekends and holiday, no structure on the property, sometimes no electric, no telephone service.  Bring in the box.  It will pick up motion and report video data to the central station, or customer's smart phone if that's the subscriber's choice, or both.  Traditional camera systems would not work at the construction site, at least until the building was substantially completed.  But the box is self contained.  Maybe it is powered by solar, communicates by cellular.  If the property has electric and telephone it could hook up to those utilities.  Car dealerships is another great spot for the MSU.  Temporary exhibits or sports or entertainment events are another area for MSU.
MSU is leased, not sold.  It's conceptually designed as a temporary surveillance measure.  It's a lot cheaper than stationary guards and probably cheaper and more effective than patrol service that comes to the premises intermittently.  The MSU is on guard 24/7 when needed.  Doesn't need a break and doesn't get weary or distracted.  Should be an easy sell to your commercial subscribers.  All you need to do is build or find where you can get the box, design it for the needs of your subscriber and ready to go.  Not quite.
You'll need a contract.  A Commercial Mobile Surveillance Lease is now available at www.alarmcontracts.com in a standardized form.  We will customize the form once you get and read it.  Order the Mobile Surveillance Lease on line or call our Contract Administrator Eileen Wagda for assistance or more information.
