LICENSE ENFORCEMENT  FL V NY
**********************
Ken
Has anyone actually sat thru an ELCB (electrical licensing contractors board) meeting in Florida?  We have, NYS is a joke compared!!!  I hope NYS is listening.  We have seen people get screwed to the tune of thousands ($$$$.00) in these meetings.  We have licenses yanked and licenses denied.  I have a lot of respect for the florida board and little to none for nys.  Complain top the florida board will result in fines.

Do you have an agreement that we can use if we want to offer a client a payment plan. State of Virginia.
Thank you

Careful with payment plans.  You don't want to run afoul of Retail Installment Plan laws, such as compliance with Truth and Lending laws.  Alarm contracts are not generally designed as Retail Installment Contracts.  If you want to offer a deferred payment type option then use the Lease All in One forms.  This will permit you to get an installation fee and then monthly payments.  Though you cannot have a buyout at the end of the lease [because that turns it into a Retail Installment Contract] you can agree to abandon the equipment at the end of the lease. [I am not recommending that].
A better option, particularly, is our "free alarm" deal contract form.  This All in One provides that the "basic system" sale and installation charge is waived provided the subscriber completes the term for the monitoring and or service agreement.  If the subscriber fails to complete the term then the waived charges are recouped.  For more information call our Contract Administrator Eileen Wagda at 516 747 6700 x 312

COMMENT ON DIY AND IoT FROM SEPT 19, 2016

Ken
With regard to the DIY and LoT discussion. Everything on the internet works until it doesn't.
We are in the business of providing a reliable service under all conditions including customer stupidity.
People leave their phones in their car, in the kitchen charger and are required in some locations to turn them completely off.  Not sure about all other alarm companies or techs but, there are places where regardless of the carrier, the service can be unreliable at times.  Some networks are already overburdened. That time may be when you need it the most.
