follow up on CA license law and insurance for LLC

Ken,
Thank you for the information.  I have not heard of this yet. Is it possible to send me more information relating to the new law?  I don't understand the restriction on additional insured. That must be the law?  As the insurance carriers are still allowing it. The central stations will not be happy as they will lose the AI endorsement if the law mandates it. We insure multiple central stations that monitor in CA that I need to inform. Also we have many dealers domicile in CA that this will effect. Please provide me more details if you could.

Interesting - doesn't apply to us as a corporation - but we'll have to double check our current dealers and if any are LLC's.

Dont shoot the messenger.  The law in its present form is clear enough.  An LLC can't dilute its lliability policy by naming additional insureds.  Applies only to LLCs.
Keep in mind that LLCs are not always treated in same was as a corporation.  Each state may have its own pecular provisions.  Before selecting an LLC make sure you understand the differences between the LLC and a corporate entity selecting subchapter S status.
