Regarding what is a type E380 and how should it be handled by a Central Station Operator?
We are not talking ‘theory’ but reality.
It is 02:30 (*when of course all things ‘hit the fan’) and you have a real Central Station Operator trying to determine what to do.
Without following NFPA-72, the Central Station will be caught in the cross fire – along with its insurance carrier when the Fire Marshal shows up at the door with subpoena for the records of the real live fire that occurred and, heaven forbid, lives were lost!  That is when the finger pointing begins and sleepless nights occur – all because of someone’s ‘inventiveness’………
We have had demands from building managers to ‘ignore’ the proper response (nobody wants to be awakened at 02:30) and we inform them “no problem as long as we have authorization from the Fire Marshal on file” – conversation quickly ends!
There is a REASON for that 02:30 am phone call needing to be made!
IT IS CALLED THE FIRE CODE AND YOUR INSURANCE CARRIER TRYING TO STAY SOLVENT AND OUT OF COURT!!
*the flip side – An intrusion alarm at a pawn shop, 3-phone calls to PD who responded 3-times with ownership refusing to respond and finally told us to ‘just make a service ticket as it is just your junky alarm system causing the issue’ that very cold January early morning.
Took 5-years and depositions out of my life. Despite doing EVERYTHING RIGHT! Then to have it go through 2-Juries being picked and 3-Judges. YOU DON’T WANT TO BE THERE! FOLLOW THE CODE!
Just my 5-cents (used to be 2-cents, but with inflation and all….)

Following NFPA, AHJ and codes does make life easier.  So does swimming with the current.
